Insurance Information for the Bellinger Pain Clinic
Dr. Bellinger does not participate with insurance panels or Medicaid, and she is not currently accepting Medicare patients in her clinic practice at Virtue Medicine. Full payment is due at the time of service at the rates listed on her fee schedule.
Both credit/debit cards and cash are accepted for payments at the time of service, and checks will be accepted from established patients or clients. When medical services with a medical diagnosis have been provided, we can provide a receipt for those who wish to apply for reimbursement from their insurance companies or Health Care Spending Accounts. Our patients are strongly encouraged to speak with their insurance companies in advance of scheduling their first appointment, so that they are aware of their policy requirements and limitations (contact information will be on the back of the insurance card).
Please be aware that some of the insurance companies continue to list Dr. Bellinger by name as one of their participating providers due to her work with other local medical facilities. Please understand that Dr. Bellinger’s private clinic at Virtue Medicine is NOT a participating provider in any insurance company. If you are uncertain about your health insurance coverage policies, it may be helpful to ask your insurer these questions:
Do I have out-of-network benefits to see a physician pain specialist who is not in-network on my insurance plan?
Do I need a referral to see a physician pain specialist in order to be eligible for out-of-network reimbursements?
Do I have a deductible that I have to meet before being eligible for reimbursement?
How much will I be reimbursed for each appointment?
Are there limits to the number of sessions I can submit for reimbursement in a calendar year?
What steps do I need to follow to apply for reimbursement?
While we understand that the billing practices of this office will not fit every person’s needs, this model of care ensures that Dr. Bellinger is able to provide the highly personalized level of care in which she specializes. In this practice, a completely transparent fee schedule means that physician time is given to individualized patient services rather than negotiating treatment plans or collecting on contracts with insurance companies.
